First day in Hong Kong

After a grueling 20 hour travel I am finally in Hong Kong. Shahina came to pick me up at the airport last night with an awesome "Sky Chang" sign :) Surprisingly my jet lag wasn't too bad. I slept through most of the night. The room that I'm in at Shahina's has a great view! I get to see the city and the water through a huge glass window before I go to sleep. The sun also sets on the same side so maybe I'll catch a sunset one of these days. Today will officially be my first day in Hong Kong. So far, I'm amazed at the MTR system. Last night, Shahina and I took the Airport Express back to her place and after we got out of the station she points to her building and says: "My building is right over there," and there I was thinking that we were still somewhere near the airport :S I got myself an octopus card (a necessity), and it is crazy how convenient this place is. Either that or I'm just easily amused (probably the latter). No but really, the card gets me places, and just the fact that I don't need to take it out of my bag while I swipe it is already enough to impress me. Haha. It also works at most of the stores around the station, at Watsons (oh how I love Watsons), and it even gets me into Shahina's building which I also have my very own key to now :) I haven't even seen anything but I'm already unbelievably excited and not wanting to go home. Today will be a full day for me. Can't wait.
